Super Deals and Promo at Lucky Supermarkets!
**UPDATE look for the "Fuel For School" Booklets before you do the promo because you may find some coupons you can use. I remember they had these last year on a school bus looking display with crackers and cookies on it. (Grab a couple extras for me if you find them, mom!)
There are some great deals at Lucky Stores this week. The deals that caught my eye are
5/$5 Calavo Avocados
$1/2 IP here (as long as their California Avocados--I can't imagine that they're not!)
Bananas $.37 lb
Red Grapes $ .67 lb
Barlett Pears $ .37 lb
Chicken Leg Quarters $ .58 lb (these are great for throwing in the crockpot all day)
And then they're running this great Back to School Promo "Buy 10 participating items get $10 off AND a $10 Catalina coupon! You can mix and match the items and they should be marked in the store.
Both My Fugal Adventures and Krazy Coupon Lady have some coupon match-ups. (Savemart and Lucky stores are affiliates) It looks like Nob Hill is running a similar promo advertising participating items at $1.99 when you buy 10 and then get a $10 Catalina coupon. GREAT DEALS!

New Smith's Catalina
There is a Catalina deal running for the A&W and the Dr. Pepper dessert toppings. Buy 1 get a $2.50 OYNO catalina coupon. There was a coupon in the 6/13 SS for $ .55/1 or $1/2, BUT if you don't have these, there is a $ .75/1 coupon on both the Smith's website and cellfire that you can load to your shoppers card. If you have the paper coupon AND the e-coupon it's a fabulous deal. I did not have the paper coupon, but I did have the e-coupon. So, I bought 1 at $3.49-$.75 ecoupon OOP $2.74 and got back a $2.50 OYNO cat. The catalina promo is marked in my store, so I knew it was working in my region. Also, the prices will vary, you may find them cheaper in other regions.
New e-coupons and Smith's Coupon Event
New Coupons up on Cellfire. Be sure to get these loaded to your Smith's Card for the upcoming coupon event. Also, be sure to load the coupons from the Smith's website. AND if you're in Utah, it appears that you can still load coupons from the P & G website on your shopper's card (this is no longer available at Las Vegas area Smith's stores.) Those may come in handy for next week's buy 4 save $4 P&G Sale. I hate to reinvent the wheel, so you can check out the list that has already been started by Utah Deal Diva. I'm going to Smith's for a final buy10 save $5 tonight, so I'll do a little shopping around and see if I can find anything else. I'll keep you posted as I find more good deals.
High Value Welch's Healthy Start Coupon
$1.50/1 Welchs Healthy Start. If you find this juice let me know where you found it and how much it costs. I'll keep my eyes peeled too!

I'm going to Smith's AGAIN--I LOVE this mega event and I think I'll do a little looking around to see what I can find that matches up with some low value coupons. **UPDATE It looks like this one is gone now--that went fast!
Okay, this is a sweet coupon for $2 off Farmer John Hot Dogs, BUT I've never seen Farmer John Hot Dogs. I searched Albertsons and Vons websites, but no go. I love Farmer John Ham and Bacon, so I'm going to print the coupon and see if I can hunt down the hot dogs. Maybe they're new. Let me know if you find them. I bet they'll be free with this coupon!

Smith's 7/20
I just wanted to show one more Smith's transaction so that you can see what a great deal the buy 5 save $5 Kraft promo is paired with the Smith's mega event. I would suggest splitting up your transactions if you're going to buy more than 5 Kraft cheese products so that you can keep "rolling" your $5 cat. So, here's what I did on this transaction.
1 Philly Cream Cheese $1.59
4 Kraft Chunk Cheese $2.20 ea
3 Gatorade $ .99ea
2 Dixie Paper Plates $1.99 ea
used
(2) $1/2 Kraft Natural cheese (blinkies in the store, I found these at 1 of 3 stores that I've shopped at, so if you don't see them at one store you may want to check another)
$1/3 Gatorade (this was a peelie that I found a long time ago wish I had more)
$1/2 Dixie IP (coupons.com)
$5 Catalina from previous purchase
OOP $3.96
got another $5 cat
Just a little fyi the chunk and shredded are the same price, however, the chunk gives you an extra ounce(sorry for the confusion, the white packages give you 7 oz but the blue packages give you eight, but the chunk melts better :)) If you're lazy like I am, pull out your food processor and shred up that cheese or if you don't have a food processor it's a great job for kids. The cream cheese does not freeze well, but watch expiration dates because it does last a long time! I'm back at Smiths when the temperature dips below 105!
Fiber Plus deal at Walgreens

This is important only the Dark Chocolate Almond flavor produces the RR Christie at Wild For Wags tried several flavors and Dark Chocolate Almond was the only one that produced the RR. I tried it out this morning and it worked for me!

Smiths 7/19
At least I had a great Smith's run, this is my third and I'm super excited about the Kraft Deal. If I can scare up any more coupons, I'll be doing that one again. It's a good deal even without coupons!
The Dan-o-nino catalina coupon that I told you about did NOT print for me, so it must be a regional cat deal.
4 Philly Cream Cheese $1.49ea
1 Philly Cream Cheese Soft $1.49
4 Dan-o-nino $2.19 ea
1 Soft Soap $1.50
-$5 mega event savings
used
(4) $1 Philly Cream Cheese here (you have to register and then check your e-mail, Login, and go back to home page, look for coupon toward the bottom of the page on the right, BUT this promo may be over)
(4) $1/1 Dan-o-nino here
$ .50 Softsoap here
OOP $4.21 and I got back a $5 Cat
The Kraft Singles were NOT tagged as part of the Mega Event in my store but all of the shredded and chunk cheese were tagged AND are part of the buy 5 save $5 Kraft catalina promo.
On a previous transaction, I did get the Tombstone Pizza for $2.49-$2 Facebook Coupon so that's a sweet deal.
You can do more than one set of 10 in a transaction just make sure to count your items and make sure you have increments of 10, I just ran out of time today. There are some really great deals--HAPPY SHOPPING!
Walgreens 7/19
Okay, it was a little frustrating at Walgreens this morning! I had to go to 4 stores to finally find what I wanted and I still want to hit one more store on the chance that I might find one more set of Dr. Scholls. So here are my transactions:
4 Pilot G2 Pens $1.19
Expo Washable Markers $5.99
Colgate Total Enamel Strength $2.49
Used
$1 Colgate Diabetes and You Magazine
$1 Expo Markers here (I realized after I got home that this did not get scanned!)
$3 Expo Markers July Coupon Book
$4 Pilot G2 July Coupon Book
$4 RR
OOP $1.24 + tax
I took a chance buying the Total Enamel Strength because it was on clearance, I thought it might print the RR like the other Total TP, but it did not, so don't buy the Enamel Strength! And make sure all of your coupons scan!
Transaction #2
Colgate Total Advanced Clean $3.49
2 Dr. Scholl Hidden Arch Support $7.49 ea
Kraft Mac and Cheese $1.29
used
$1 Colgate SS 7/11/10
(2) $2 Dr. Schools for Her IP
$.60 Mac and Cheese in ad coupon
$10 Dr. Scholl July Coupon book
$4 RR
OOP $ .16 + tax
got $3.50RR(Colgate) and $5 RR(Dr. Scholls)
An interesting pricing note, the Dr. Scholls were $6.99 at the first 3 stores and $7.49 at the 4th it's interesting because generally the pricing is just reversed at these particular stores. Since the 4th store was the only one that had any in stock I didn't mind paying the extra and it was still a $4 moneymaker.
You can also use the Pilot Pen IP's that I told you about here but if you do, make sure to give the IP first and then the Walgreen July coupon book coupon or it will beep! Also, make sure you have other items to eat up the overage. If you can't find the pens in the office supply aisle, check in the seasonal back to school aisle, you may find them there.

There are lots of deals that are not included in the ad so bring your coupons and look around while you shop. Also, the mega event will last for 2 weeks so if your store is out of an item or two, don't panic, they'll probably restock before the sale if over.
One of the deals that I found last night was on Dixie paper plates they are on sale for $1.99 which is $1.49 after mega event pricing and there's a $1.00/2 coupon here so $1/bag of plates is pretty good.
and Idahoan potatoes are $ .99 which is $.49 after mega event and there's a coupon here for $ .75/3 if it's still available, I haven't had luck printing it, but give it a shot. Good for short term food storage.
The Danino yogurt is included in the mega event, there is a $1/1 coupon here and reports that if you buy 2 you'll get a $1 cat and if you buy 4 you'll get a $2 off your next shopping order cat. The Goldfish Coupon is back!
One of my very favorite coupons is back. My kids are GoldFish fanatics! Click here (coupons.com) and print this coupon. I generally don't advise printing coupons unless you're pretty sure you're going to use it. I say this because you can waste a ton of very expensive ink printing coupons you may never use especially if the item doesn't go on sale before the coupon expires. On the other hand when you see a high value coupon for something that your family likes, print it! There is a print limit on coupons, so sometimes if you wait, the really good coupons will reach their limit and be gone. Sooooo, if your kids like GoldFish print this coupon and cross your fingers for a good sale. (These won't work at Walgreens this week because they are for the Goldfish Grahams not regular Goldfish)

Vons trip 7/16 Plus a Little Info.on E-coupons
I know it's been forever since I posted a grocery store transaction, but the truth is I haven't been shopping much. I've been buying mostly just produce. So, here's my Vons trip today. They will have pasta and hot dogs on sale with store coupons on Monday so I'll be going back then, we can never have too much pasta and hot dogs! The only reason the b4g4 cereal is a good deal is because I had a slew of e-coupons loaded to my shopping card which basically made the cereal free.
What are e-coupons?? Well, e-coupons may be the wave of the future, there are some great things about e-coupons and some not great things, and truthfully overall, the bad outweighs the good, but I digress. E-coupons are coupons that are loaded directly to your shoppers card. Vons and Smiths (and their affiliates) participate in e-coupon programs at Cellfire and Shortcuts. It's very simple, you just go to their site, register your shoppers card and choose the coupons you want to put on your card. They have expiration dates just like regular coupons BUT they are one time use which means you can by 1 item with that coupon and then it's gone. Now, Vons and Smiths handle e-coupons a little differently. At Vons if you buy and item for ex. Honey Nut Cheerios they will deduct ALL the e-coupons you have loaded on your card for that one box of cereal from shortcuts AND cellfire PLUS you can use a regular paper coupon as well, you'll see how this works in my transaction. Smiths, on the other hand, will only deduct 1 coupons per item. So if I had 2 Honey Nut Cheerios coupons they would only deduct 1 unless I had 2 boxes of cereal. Clear as mud???? You can also stack e-coupons with paper coupons at Smiths.
Both Smiths and Vons also have loadable coupons on their site. The Vons coupons from their site have been hit or miss with coming off your card. The Vons loadable coupons are Coupons.com coupons which means if you load them to your card, you cannot print the paper coupon from coupons. com-- Not good! Smiths also has coupons on their site, but they are not linked in any way to coupons.com--GOOD! And although I've only used the Smiths website coupons a couple of times, they have come off without any problems. I LOVE Smiths!
I know it sounds a little confusing, but it's really super easy! Just go to Cellfire and Shortcuts and load the coupons and then shop as normal with your paper coupons! You can also print off a shopping list from both sites that you can keep with your coupons. Both sites load new coupons about every two weeks, sometimes more often.
You can also load coupons from P & G to your Vons card.
Okay, so here's my transaction at Vons today!
NV Maple and Brown Sugar Granola bar Free (B4G4 + free granola bars)
Cinnamon Toast Crunch $1.99
Golden Grahams $1.99
Honey Nut Cheerios $1.99
NV Cashew Nut clusters $1.99
Chicken $6.71
(3) 6 Packs Coke $2.50 ea.

$1 NV Nut Clusters IP (coupons.com)
$.75 Honey Nut Cheerios IP (you have to play the game)
$.60 Cinnamon Toast Crunch IP (coupons.com)

$1.50 Cat coupon from previous Purchase
e-coupons
Golden Grahams $ .75 X 2
Honey Nut Cheeriosn $ .55
Nut Clusters $1 X 4

So, the e-coupons gave me an extra$6.05 off which combined with my paper coupons made the cereal free plus a tiny bit of overage.

Smiths Mega Event
**UPDATED
Here's a coupon you may want to print if you're planning on shopping Smith's Mega Event (buy 10 mega event items and save $5) starting tomorrow.
$2 off Tombstone Pizza (I have a separate facebook account for all of my couponing)
This is not in my ad, but there are always lots of items marked in store that are not in the ad. Survivng the Stores said that they are priced at $2.47 after mega event pricing so $ .47 after coupon. I'll let you know if I see it marked in the store.
You can check out some coupon match-ups at Utah Deal Diva! and Pinching Your Pennies!

Walgreens 7/12
Well, a pretty dull week at Walgreens, but I found a few things to buy with some of the RR that I needed to burn. I always say, that if you have expiring RR and no way to roll them, then by all means, buy stuff you need. The only RR items I bought were the tb, my kids are in hog heaven about the gold fish, I always need baking soda and it has a 3 year expiration, and there are some really good deals on school supplies. So, here's the deals
Transaction #1
6 Goldfish $ .99 ea
1 baking soda $.99
used
(6) $.50/1Goldfish IP here (you can print 2 per computer)
$.49 Baking Soda in ad IVC
$3 RR
$ .34 OOP
Transaction #2
4 Reach Crystal Clean TB $1.59
1 Crayola marker $ .99
1 Colored Pencils $ .49
used
$1.50/2 Reach (Safeway booklet coupon)
2 B1G1 Reach RP 5/16/10
$3 RR
OOP $.80
got $4 RR
Transaction #3
4 Legal Pads $.99ea
2 Scunci "value Pack" (these are wrapped in cellophane w/2 pkgs of hair ties) $2.99ea not marked but on sale b1g1 free!
used
$.49ea legal pad in ad ivc
$2.99 auto deduct for B1G1 sale
$2 off Scunci in ad IVC ($1 off each)
$1 RR
$1 RR
OOP $.32
Okay so the Scunci deal is a sweet one. The deal is this the scunci hair ties are on sale B1G1 all month. One of my stores had one tag up, buy they didn't have the value pack. So I bought 2 pkgs of the value packs they are $2.99 ea, but the B1G1 takes off the $2.99 and then the in ad IVC takes of $2 so you pay $.99 for 4 scunci's!! I hope that wasn't too confusing.
Again, I could have done all three transactions in 1 but the first store didn't have the TB, the 2nd store didn't have the scunci's so I just bought something at each until I got home!

New Target Coupons
There are some new Target coupons that you may want to snag.
$5 off C9 men's or Women's apparel
$3 off Merona Men's Top
$2 off Merona Women's Top
$3 off Merona Handbag
these are just a few of the coupons I printed. The great thing about these coupons is that they don't exclude clearance mer chandise. So, definitely head to the clearance section. Most Target coupons say 1 per transaction. Some Targets are very strict and some are not, so you just have to test the waters. I have 2 GREAT Targets and 1 awful Target. Of course the one to my house is terrible, and honestly, I don't even shop there. The extra 5 minutes in the car is worth it to me to not deal with the hassles even in 110 degree heat!!!
If you use clean and clear products, check out this post at Totally Target for some super cheap clean and clear products AND print that clean and clear coupon off the Target website while you're printing the others.

Freezing Tortillas
Whenever I find tortillas on sale and can pair them with a good coupon (like the one I posted here) I always buy as many as I have coupons. Why? Because we eat a lot of tortillas and they freeze beautifully. Here are a couple of tricks to freezing your tortillas. I always separate them into 8 or 10 and then put a piece of wax paper between groups, that way they don't all freeze together.
The other trick to freezing anything is to get as much air out of the packaging as possible this helps prevent freezer burn. If you have a foodsaver--no problem. If you don't have a foodsaver, still no problem just a little more effort. I always transfer the food into freezer bags or plastic freezer containers because they're thicker and made for freezing. Then just grab a handy-dandy drinking straw and...you guessed it....suck the air out. Date the bag and throw it in the freezer.
