Vons Hallmark Deal

**UPDATE--Okay, here's what I figured out, your store has either the buy 3 get $5 oyno OR you got the $2/3 coupon in your ad--unfortunately, not both, but still 2 good deals. If you got the $2/3 coupon you can buy 3 of the $ .99 cards, use your free item coupon and the $2/3 coupon. Great for stocking up on inexpensive cards, especially kids birthday cards!

Another good deal at Vons (Safeway Affiliates). I swear they keep dragging me back into this store with the good deals! If you buy 3 Hallmark cards you get a $5 oyno catalina coupon. Does not apply to the $ .99 cent cards or the gift tags. But it works with the $1.99 cards. So here's the deal

Buy 3 cards for $1.99 ea
OOP $5.97
get a $5 coupon that you can use on your next shopping trip!

To sweeten the deal, in the mid-week ad that I got yesterday in my mail (you'll get them in your Sunday paper, if you don't get them in the mail) there is a coupon for a free Izzy item $2.99 value. Don't look at the prices on the back of the items because they're all on sale for $2.99. Some super cute little desk items for free!

I read on SD that next weeks ad will have a $2 off 3 Hallmark cards coupon which will be Awesome! You may also find tearpads with the same coupon in the card area of your store--none in mine!

My store had signs hanging all over the card area advertising the $5 oyno deal good until May 8th, however some people in states other than California and Nevada have reported this not working in their area. I personally, would only do this deal if the signs are posted in your store. If you need the cards anyway, you can still get the freebie with the coupon!

A couple of notes. There are coupons for the plackers in the 4/18 RP (I don't get that one). The Stayfree is also a really good deal this week and there were $2 coupons in the 4/18RP as well as $1 coupons in the 4/25 SS. The mint flossers were not marked in my store but did ring up for the $2 sale price and produced the RR. There are also coupons in the packages of flossers, but I forgot to take them out and use them on the next transaction!

There's a super deal on Hallmark cards if you need them and/or if you can find them. The deal is buy 4 Hallmark cards get a $2 RR or buy 8 and get a $5 RR. These are working on the $.99 cards AND the $.49 card even though they are not marked as part of the deal. I went to 4 different stores looking for the $.49 cards (they're kids cards) and none of my stores had them.

Also, I really didn't need to buy the microfiber cloths in Transaction #3, but they were on clearance and even though there labeled as "car cloths" I'm using them as regular cleaning cloths. I just bought some microfiber cloths at Walmart for about $1.50 each and they are AWESOME for cleaning windows and mirrors. So, if you see these on clearance, you may want to snag a few!

One more thing, I know I've warned most of you about not using PDF coupons, but this one is legit and is hosted on the manufacturers site, just be sure to give the $1 off coupon FIRST and then the ad coupon. If you do it the other way, the coupon will beep because of the 1 cent difference.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Okay folks, time for a recipe. This one is a regular at our house because it's super quick and super easy. It's sweet and sour meatballs, but you can use chicken or pork or beef, whatever you have on hand. I use meatballs because I buy them frozen at Costco and Sam's so I always have them in my freezer and I've also used chicken, but it would be great with leftover pork or beef. So, here's the recipe:

1 small can pineapple juice
1 Can Pineapple (chunks or tidbits)
2 T cornstarch
1/2 C brown sugar
1/4 C Vinegar
2 T Soy Sauce
1 Pepper chopped (red, green, yellow, orange, whichever you like)
I always double the recipe and add 1 little can of pineapple juice

In a small bowl combine Cornstarch with enough pineapple juice to dissolve cornstarch set aside.

In small frying pan, sautee pepper in a little bit of olive or vegetable oil.

Over low heat in large skillet add remaining pineapple juice, slowly stir in cornstarch and juice mixture. Add brown sugar, vinegar and soy sauce, bring to a boil until thickened, reduce heat, add pineapple and cooked meatballs or cooked shredded chicken and peppers.

Serve over rice.

So, simple and DELICIOUS!!

Keep your eyes out for those pineapple sales and coupons and then stock-up for lots of sweet and sour!
